Judah in the south and Israel in the north.
Both kingdoms inhabited by people descended from Abraham, yet they developed distinct religious practices and cultural identities.
Imagine that all of a sudden they realized the great grandfather of 116 generations back wouldn’t have wanted all this fighting.
We can imagine.
Then again we could also imagine that Yankees fans and Red Socks fans could share a beer. Wait, they can! The Yankees-Red Sox rivalry is a dynamic one, where fierce competition coexists with a grudging respect and shared love for the game. Warring nations (particularly the leaders) should wake up and unify around common ground. It’s generally not the everyday people who want to fight.
